Community Guidelines
TrackrNG is built on trust, transparency, and truthful civic engagement. These guidelines help every citizen report issues effectively and hold leaders accountable with dignity and respect.
Be Factual & Truthful
Report genuine community issues that you have personally observed with verifiable location details.
Respectful Discourse
Civic action thrives on unity. No tribalism, hate speech, partisan insults, or personal attacks.
Authentic Evidence
Use clear, original photos taken at the scene. Never upload recycled or misleading media.
Protect Privacy
Never share private phone numbers, home addresses of private citizens, or personal family quarrels.
What Belongs on TrackrNG
TrackrNG is specifically designed for public infrastructure, community safety, utilities, and essential government services. Before reporting, make sure your issue is a public matter affecting neighbors or the community at large.
What We Encourage Reporting:
- Roads & Bridges: Potholes, collapsed culverts, unpaved corridors, broken streetlights.
- Power & Energy: Fallen electric poles, burnt community transformers, blackout streaks.
- Water & Sanitation: Broken public pipe bursts, uncollected public dumpsites, contaminated water.
- Drainage & Flooding: Blocked gutters, flood hazard zones, erosion gullies.
- Healthcare & Schools: Dilapidated primary health centers, unequipped government primary schools.
- Widespread Scams & Consumer Fraud: Systemic crypto scams, Ponzi schemes, predatory loan apps, or syndicate operations ravaging community members.
What Does NOT Belong Here:
- Private Disputes: Disagreements with landlords, neighbors, or business partners.
- Personal Gossip: Defamatory statements, unverified rumors, or character assassination.
- Commercial Advertising: Promoting products, services, or political campaign ads.
Submitting an Effective Report
Reports backed by accurate hyperlocal data and solid photographic evidence receive the fastest community support and response from local government leaders and utility representatives.
Pinpoint Your Exact Location
Always select the exact State, LGA, and Ward. Include nearby landmarks (e.g., "Opposite Central Mosque, along Old Market Road") so maintenance teams can find it easily.
Clear, Well-Lit Photos
Take clear photos showing the full scale of the issue. Avoid blurry, cropped, or filtered images. One clear picture speaks louder than paragraphs of text.
Objective & Concise Title
Use informative titles such as "Burnt 500kVA transformer causing blackout in Ojo Ward" instead of emotional slogans like "PHCN must answer for this".
Use Civic Hashtags (#)
Attach trending civic hashtags (like #FixBeninExpressway, #AbujaBlackout) to bundle reports together into united citizen campaigns.
Collaboration & Verification
TrackrNG is powered by community moderation. Every citizen has tools to ensure issues are accurately documented and properly marked when resolved.
"Affects Me Too" vs "Support"
Click "Affects Me Too" if you reside, work, or commute in the impacted community. Use "Support" if you stand with the community and want the report to gain greater reach.
Suggesting Corrections
If a report has a spelling error, an incorrect LGA or Ward, or a wrong category, click "Suggest a Correction". Community members and admins review proposals to keep records reliable.
Resolution Protocol
When an agency or community fixes a reported issue, neighbors can submit a Resolution Proposal with before-and-after photographic evidence. Once verified, the issue is celebrated as Resolved.
Zero-Tolerance Violations
To preserve TrackrNG as a safe and trusted platform for all Nigerians, the following violations result in immediate removal, warning, or permanent account ban:
Hate Speech & Ethnic Bias
Any derogatory statements based on ethnicity, tribe, religion, gender, or state of origin will not be tolerated under any circumstance.
Doxxing & Privacy Invasion
Publishing private citizens' phone numbers, residential addresses, bank information, or unauthorized personal photographs is strictly forbidden.
Malicious Misinformation
Fabricating non-existent emergencies, using old photos from foreign countries to mislead, or filing fake reports will lead to immediate account suspension.
Flagging Abuse System
If you encounter any content violating these guidelines, click "Flag abuse" on the issue page. Our moderation team reviews every report within 24 hours.
