All reports must be authentic, truthful, and accompanied by original photos taken at the scene. False emergencies or defamation are prohibited.

1

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, registering for, or using TrackrNG ("the platform"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not access or use the platform.

2

Accounts, Anonymity & Security

To maintain an accessible and fearless civic space, our registration requirements are designed with your personal protection in mind:

  • Pseudonymous Accounts: You are entitled to participate using an alias or username. We deliberately do not ask for your real legal name, residential home address, NIN, BVN, or phone number.
  • Email Verification: A valid email address is required for authentication and security. In line with our Privacy Policy, your email is confidential and never displayed publicly.
  • Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and password. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • No Sybil / Bot Manipulation: Users must not create automated bot accounts, purchase inorganic votes, or manipulate "Affects Me Too" and "Support" tallies.
3

Acceptable Use & Content Standards

TrackrNG is dedicated to the public good. You agree to submit only truthful, observed civic information:

Permitted Content:
  • Public infrastructure deficits (roads, collapsed bridges, drainage, streetlights)
  • Public utility breakdowns (power transformers, fallen poles, water pipeline leaks)
  • Public schools and Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) in disrepair
  • Environmental hazards, uncollected public refuse, and erosion gullies
  • Widespread consumer fraud, systemic Ponzi schemes, crypto scams, or illegal loan sharks exploiting community residents
Strictly Prohibited Content:
  • Hate speech, tribal prejudice, ethnic slurs, or religious incitement
  • Personal character assassination, unverified defamation, or targeted harassment
  • Doxxing (publishing private citizens' phone numbers, home addresses, or private photos)
  • Private civil disputes (landlord-tenant disagreements, interpersonal quarrels)
  • Commercial advertising, product spam, or partisan election campaign ads
  • Fabricating fake emergencies or using recycled/foreign media to deceive the public
4

Intellectual Property & Open Civic License

You retain ownership of any photos, videos, and written descriptions you upload to TrackrNG.

However, by submitting content to TrackrNG, you grant the platform, civil society organizations, investigative journalists, and the general public a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, cite, analyze, redistribute, and reference your civic report for the purposes of public interest reporting, government advocacy, and infrastructural development.

5

Platform Role & Disclaimers

To set proper expectations, please note:

  • Civic Facilitator, Not Contractor: TrackrNG is a civic-tech data and communication platform. We are not a construction firm, utility repairer, or government agency. We do not guarantee that public authorities will repair reported problems.
  • Not an Emergency Dispatch Service: TrackrNG is NOT an emergency response service. For life-threatening emergencies (e.g. fire, armed robbery, medical distress, gas leaks), immediately dial the Nigerian national emergency numbers or local emergency services.
  • Content As-Is: While we moderate reports to uphold truthfulness, TrackrNG provides the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.
6

Moderation, Suspension & Termination

To safeguard community trust, TrackrNG reserves the right (but assumes no obligation) to review, reject, or remove any report or comment that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We may suspend or permanently terminate accounts involved in malicious misinformation, hate speech, coordinated harassment, or bot automation without prior notice.

7

Governing Law & Changes to Terms

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect platform improvements or statutory developments. When changes are made, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after updates indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
